Question 1 Students will post a 1/2 to 1 page narrative - with NEXT STEPS: How can/will you begin to use these tools with your students? How do you see one or more of these tools being used next semester with your students or for you professionally? How can Val or your tech coach get you to the next step or cross a hurdle that is preventing you from using these tools? I hope to hear from you next semester... this course is a starting point not a finish line. Answer 1 This class has been a real awakening for me with the exposure to all the new technology I have been given. It really isn’t new technology but it is new to me.I am like a kid in a candy store.Ideas of projects for the students, service learning projects for even more students along with larger scale endeavors for other classes and teachers.I guess one of the first projects I will do next semester is with Voice Thread.Right now, I have the kids do posters on certain drugs and how they effect different body systems.I was thinking of having the kids get into group and record how each body system is effected by their drug. Then the rest of the class could go on to the voice thread site and listen to the different presentations. This would help the visual and well as the auditory learners. I also want to use voice thread to create a collection of advice on pre-marital sex for the 7th grade health class.I will get 8th graders and high school kids to record their advice for the 7th grade students to listen to.Advice coming from other teenagers carries more weight than anything coming from an old teacher like me.This is the first project I though of when I learned about Voice thread.I know that if students hear kids talking about the issues they are going though right now, that they will listen. Some of my resistance to using a few of these tools is time.I don’t have to time right now to learn how each tool works completely and what would be the best way to use it in my classroom.I want to play with many of these tools over the summer and then figure out how to integrate them into my curriculum.

Answer 1
This class has been a real awakening for me with the exposure to all the new technology I have been given. It really isn’t new technology but it is new to me. I am like a kid in a candy store. Ideas of projects for the students, service learning projects for even more students along with larger scale endeavors for other classes and teachers. I guess one of the first projects I will do next semester is with Voice Thread. Right now, I have the kids do posters on certain drugs and how they effect different body systems. I was thinking of having the kids get into group and record how each body system is effected by their drug. Then the rest of the class could go on to the voice thread site and listen to the different presentations. This would help the visual and well as the auditory learners.
I also want to use voice thread to create a collection of advice on pre-marital sex for the 7th grade health class. I will get 8th graders and high school kids to record their advice for the 7th grade students to listen to. Advice coming from other teenagers carries more weight than anything coming from an old teacher like me. This is the first project I though of when I learned about Voice thread. I know that if students hear kids talking about the issues they are going though right now, that they will listen.
Some of my resistance to using a few of these tools is time. I don’t have to time right now to learn how each tool works completely and what would be the best way to use it in my classroom. I want to play with many of these tools over the summer and then figure out how to integrate them into my curriculum.
